Stump Grinding

Grind stumps flush or below grade—fast, clean, and affordable.

About This Service

Leftover stumps are trip hazards, eyesores, and invitations for pests and fungal growth. Our stump grinding equipment handles stumps of any size, grinding them down to below grade. We can grind to soil level for replanting or deeper for new construction. The resulting mulch can be left on-site or hauled away.

What You Get

  • Eliminates tripping hazards in your yard
  • Prevents new sprout growth from the root system
  • Reclaim usable lawn and garden space
  • Mulch remains on-site or is hauled off—your choice

Frequently Asked Questions

How deep will you grind the stump?
We grind stumps to 6–12 inches below grade as standard, which is deep enough for replanting grass or laying sod. If you're installing a garden bed or foundation, we can go deeper — just let us know your plans during the estimate.
What happens to the wood chips left behind?
We can leave the wood chips on-site for you to use as mulch, blend them into the surrounding soil, or haul everything away. It's your choice and we'll confirm the plan before we start.
Will the stump grow back after grinding?
No — grinding destroys the root system's ability to send up new sprouts. Unlike simply cutting a stump flush, grinding below grade prevents regrowth entirely so you don't deal with the same problem a year later.
